CARACALC - Room with surround configuration

Before starting a Positional Optimization you should bring up the menu item Parameter from the Options menu. Adjust the Maximum Reflection Order to 4 or 5 for example.
Additionally you may use some of the symmetry constraints for the 'Positional Optimization'. Those refer to the main loudspeakers of your loudspeaker configuration. You may require an equidistant positioning for both loudspeakers considering the front and/or the side walls. This is selected from the menu Options/Variational Ranges.

During the optimizing process the positioning of the loudspeakers and the listener are updated in the main window every time a new optimum has been achieved. Simultaneously the representation of the SPL frequency response curves is updated, if they have been displayed beforehand (menu item Results / Positional Optimization).

The Calculation Tracer shows the gradual advance of the optimization process.

You may break the optimization run at any time (menu item Break in menu Calculations). Save the current optimum positioning.

Sometimes it is advantageous to restart the optimization run after having readjusted the starting positions, the Positioning Regions, or the 'Maximum Reflection Order' respectively.
