For the determination of the Reverberation Time usually a loudspeaker is excited by a 'Dirac-Pulse'. From the resulting Transient Room Response the Reverberation Diagram is derived.
To visualize all the wave fronts being created by reflecting the Dirac-Pulse at the room walls the sound pressure is calculated (see also Sound Field Calculation) at a net of 1,000-3,000 Grid Points, which have automatically been defined at room design by the module CARACAD.
The animation at the left side displays the space and time dependence of the sound field (Transient Room Response) being excited by a single Dirac-Pulse transmitted by all the loudspeakers of a Surround Configuration.
