The wizard 'New Room Design' facilitates the specification of the basic settings of a new room design. You are guided through four property pages: floor plan templates, dimensions, wall materials, and loudspeaker configurations.
On the first page you select a floor plan template. Apart from the simple rectangular shape
you may select from 12 further templates (e.g. L-shaped).
The shape of
the selected floor plan template may be adapted in accordance to the actual room shape later on.
On the second page you define the basic dimensions of the floor plan. By means of the function key F10
you are able to enter the dimensions in non-metric units like inches, feet, or yards. If making sloping ceilings,
enter the maximum room height.
Note: The room height can not be changed any more once the Wizard is closed.
On the third page you select the basic materials. The materials determine the acoustic properties
(sound absorption coefficients) of the floor, walls, and ceiling.
The grid points level defines the distance to the floor of the grid of target points for the sound field calculations.
The recommended level of the grid corresponds to the height of the listener's ear above the floor. The default is 100 cm
assuming the listener is sitting on a sofa.
On the last page you choose your loudspeaker configuration. You may select from: 'Stereo', 'Quadro',
several 'Surround' set ups, and 'Public Address'.
CARA 2.1 PLUS contains 10 additional digital surround configurations to comply with new and future market demands.
